After 26Apr2018 no full backup is been executed on the server. The server crashed on 29May2018 and i have managed to recover only the ldf file of the database. The mdf file is coverted to 0kb by the virus and hidden under a folder. I am sure it is not 0kb it is only showing 0 kb, because most virus converts files to 0Kb.

The file is located under “C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft SQL Server110Sharedsqlservr.execon” folder. I managed to rename the sqlserv.exe folder by changing security persmission and taking ownership of the folder. However, i am not able to change security permission of “con” folder. It gives me error “the requested security information is either unavailable or cannot be displayed”.

Re: Unable to open some links in IE8

The page opens in Firefox, no issues.
“Block-PopUp” is not the case, because it doesn’t open a new page while login to the Logmein Server.

The same thing happens to my Helpdesk webpage also. When i try to login with my credentials i get a system sound 2 to 4 times “ting ting” and nothing happens. Sound only comes when i hit enter after entering username and password. But when i click on login button nothing happens.

I have added this pages to trusted sites, but still no luck.

Also uninstalled IE8 from Addremove program and reinstalled it.

This is a web development server and the user need IE instead of Firefox.

Re: SysVol shared folder not on my additional DC- Solved

I have solved the issue using the BurFlags registry key to reintialize File Replication Service replica sets.

What i did is i simply went on my additional DC stopped FRS, opened regedit modified the BurFlag registry key to D4 and started the FRS. It created a SYSVOL folder for me automatically and the replication was started after the restart.

Re: SysVol shared folder not on my additional DC

I am bit confused with “Last Domain” thing. I have three domain controller in my offce mumdc2.octo (Primary with all FSMO roles), mumdc3.octo and mumdc4.octo. This all domain contollers are up and running.

I want to demote domain controller role from mumdc4.octo which is the last most domain contoller i have created. And if i do so will all users and computer account will be deleted ?. And should i check mark the box where it asks “Delete the domain contoller because this server is the last domain controller in the domain”

I am tring to demote my last domain controller. But i am getting an warning that if you “Beware all user and computer accounts will be delete”.

What does this means. If i demote this domain controller will all the users and computer accounts which i have created will remove from my other domain controllers.

Re: My domain controller doesnot have any suffix

@ Ossian – The link provided by you http://www.petri.com/rename-windows-server-2008-domain-controllers.htm only describes how to rename a name of the domain controller.

I want to know regarding renaming the name of my domain not the domain controller.

Your article describes how to name a DC with the name from KUKU-SERVER.PETRI.LOCAL to DC-SERVER.PETRI.LOCAL

But in my case my Server name is DC-SERVER.PETRI AND I WANT TO CHANGE IT TO DC-SERVER.PETRI.LOCAL

I want to change the name of my domain ex PETRI TO PETRI.LOCAL not the domain controller name.

If you have any step by step instructions of doing this please let me know.

Re: SysVol shared folder not on my additional DC

DNS Server is running on MumDc2.octo and MumDc3.octo.

MumDc4 is only with ADS role.

All users uses MumDc2.octo as primary Domain and MumDc3.octo as secondary Domain for DNS resolution.

On MumDc2.octo, MumDc3.octo and MumDc4.octo primary DNS is MumDc2.octo and secondary DNS is MumDc3.octo.

On my Primary DC i.e. mumdc2.octo pass all the test of dcdaig. SysVol and Netlogon share folders are available.

On my additional DC mumdc3.octo and mumdc4.octo dcdiag test doesnot pass the for netlogon. Sysvol share folder is available but Netlogon share folder is not available.
