    what if i disable IPv6 using registry edit would it help..

    note: i don’t have dhcp for IPv6.

    No,
    what i want is to change the ownership of the drive C from xxxx to local administrator, when you right click the drive c then choose security then choose advance then choose owner.

    i want to change the owner from any users rights to administrator rights.

    Re: how to resolve IP from internal/external DNS for one site

    Let made this simpler,

    Our employee access xyz.com/report to generate some report for the company but each time they access it take a long time because of the speed of the internet. What we did in IT is, we came up with a solution to have a direct link between us and xyz.com Company to avoid going to internet and put a firewall between us.

    Now, xyz.com has an external IP which is 222.333.444.555 but while we have a direct link we need access the internal IP which is 10.20.30.40, the problem is each time the explorer go and resolve the external IP and I want explorer to resolve the IP from our internal DNS.

    in reply to: Change XP SP2 VLK installation to OEM #236500

    Re: Change XP SP2 VLK installation to OEM

    ok.. then what do you think about this Article:

    ========================================

    Unlocking WinXP’s setupp.ini

    WinXP’s setupp.ini controls how the CD acts. IE is it an OEM version or retail? First, find your setupp.ini file in the i386 directory on your WinXP CD. Open it up, it’ll look something like this:

    ExtraData=707A667567736F696F697911AE7E05
    Pid=55034000

    The Pid value is what we’re interested in. What’s there now looks like a standard default. There are special numbers that determine if it’s a retail, oem, or volume license edition. First, we break down that number into two parts. The first five digits determines how the CD will behave, ie is it a retail cd that lets you clean install or upgrade, or an oem cd that only lets you perform a clean install? The last three digits determines what CD key it will accept. You are able to mix and match these values. For example you could make a WinXP cd that acted like a retail cd, yet accepted OEM keys.

    Now, for the actual values. Remember the first and last values are interchangable, but usually you’d keep them as a pair:

    Retail = 51882 335
    Volume License = 51883 270
    OEM = 82503 OEM

    So if you wanted a retail CD that took retail keys, the last line of your setupp.ini file would read:

    Pid=51882335

    And if you wanted a retail CD that took OEM keys, you’d use:

    Pid=51882OEM

    Note that this does NOT get rid of WinXP’s activation. Changing the Pid to a Volume License will not bypass activation. You must have a volume license (corporate) key to do so.

    Re: Outlook mobile access is not working

    Dear TaGert,

    you have to uncheck the “anonymous access” from all exchange feature : OWA, OMA and RPC in the IIS.

    then you have to create the exchange-oma directory in the IIS and in “authenticated access” select “integrated windows authentication” and “basic authentication”. in the default domain type ( ) without bracket.

    in the exchange and OMA directory in the IIS only select “basic authentication”.

    then you have to uncheck the option “require secure channel SSL” from the exchange-oma and OMA directory in IIS.

    also, you have to know that may be my IIS directory name is not the same as your IIS. but they all mean the same thing.

    hi..

    I found a solution but it is not the right one..

    I went to the use and login to his PC with the administrator account then I change his profile need to user.old and let him login again to the PC. The windows XP create a new profile for him then I open outlook and test the sending and it send without having the SMTP message.

    This is mean something to you guys because I could not figure what was the problem.

    dear Simon,

    200 users????
    what I mean is that I am the administrator of exchange in company XXX that has more than 200 employee.. and one or two employee are facing the “SMTP” problem.

    I have to check what type of format the user using in sending e-mail and I will let you know..

    I still believe that it is a McAfee problem regarding SPAM or Mass Mailer.. but until now I do not have any prove to this…

    I hope I can solve this problem soon because its becoming annoying

    Re: smtp;550 Denied by policy

    dear Sembee,

    if what you said are right then how can more than 200 users send new e-mail out said the company.. the problem only related to one or two user.

    Today I made a test:
    1- I let the user login to ” OWA – Outlook Web Access”
    2- send e-mails from his contact list

    what I notices that he can send e-mails without having the “SMTP” message. However, when he try to send from MS outlook he got the “SMTP” message..

    it is really strange..

    I was thinking that may be Groupshield has to do something in blocking but when the user can send from his OWA then their is no problem in the groupshield.

    Also, I try to access the dnsreport.com and I got this message
    WARNING: You are using a web proxy that is currently being abused by malware. Please go here for more details. The web proxy IP is ********.

    Re: SMS secondary Site problem

    thank you yanivfel for you post..

    well it is two difference domain and there is a forest trust relationship between the two domain.

    What I nosiest is that some of the computers in the branch are assign to MSM codesite and I can remote them. However, this is only happening if a computer “A” in the main office disjoined from abc.com domain then moved and join the xyz.com domain. Also, other computers that is not joined to abc.com domain before well not be assigned to the sitecode MSM.

    What I mean is when we format a computer in the main office and joined to the domain the SMS well see the computer and install the advance client and it will detect the MSM sitecode. If this computer disjoined from abc.com and moved to xyz.com domain and join the domain, then I can see this computer in the SMS console and I can remote it without any problem. However, if a computer has been formatted in the xyz.com domain and join the domain after that I can see the computer in the SMS console but I can not remote it because it is not assigned to any domain sitecose.

    I hope you got what I mean…
