Once the trunk ports are up you will see the encapsulation type in the show int trunk output. You may want to check out the cisco feature navigator to confirm it supports dot1q only or isl only. I’m betting its do1q only though but you never know.
‘show int “interface name” switchport’ shows:
Administrative Trunking Encapsulation: dot1q
I think we’re good.

Also why do you have switchport access vlan 56 on a trunk port? Its either gonna be a trunk or an access port but not both.
Yup you’re right. A trunk port will pass all vlans. Didnt think about that, and I’m surprised that it allowed me to do it.April 29, 2011 at 11:12 am in reply to: Exchange 2003 Event ID 1159: Uncommitted Transaction Logs #353202
Re: Exchange 2003 Event ID 1159: Uncommitted Transaction Logs
We ran into this this other day. Had our Exchange daily backup hang, causing an excessive amount of tlogs (1008 max for 2003), and thus dismounted all of our stores.
Apparently there is a hotfix that will adjust this limitation, but it looks like its only for Exchange 2K?

Right, I understand that. I’ll be doing this during our normally schedule maintenance period so we’ll be down anyway.
I haven’t tried, but can I move multiple mailboxes at the same time? Or is it best to do them individually? I have about 20 to move.
Re: Mailbox Archive/Multiple User Access
Thanks Virtual. I’ve created a share directory and group so only they have access to the pst. Now I just need HR to decide how far back they want the mailbox to have emails and I’ll test…

Well, no doubt they will need to clean out older resumes. I think once that is complete, we’ll have an idea of how much this mailbox usually contains and I can move to a larger mailbox store. But I’ll still need an archive solution. Going forward, Sharepoint might be an option, but for right now I’m looking for more of a quick and dirty solution…
