Re: Printing issues – Citrix PPS 4.0

    Sorry for not replaying earlier…

We found a work around…It seems that if we publish any of the Citrix boxes desktop (it doesn’t have to be the ones where the appication is installed) and the user logs in once after he opens the appication again he can print.
We checked users TS profiles before and after and the only difference is (after he logs in to the desktop) a folder called “Identities” gets created under “Application Data”. Any ideas?

PS: The application developers admited that they didn’t build the application for Citrix environment nor they did any testing in Citrix.

Re: Printing issues – Citrix PPS 4.0

    Hi Smart-x,

In both cases (RDP and ICA) I printed to same network printers and also different ones.
The ‘auto-create’ policy also mapps network printers, we don’t have local printers.

    Thanks,

Re: Printing issues – Citrix PPS 4.0

Error regarding my last post has been dealt with. I had to change the default printer from the session ones to “Microsoft Office Document Image Writer”.
I can print now using a regular TS connection.
I still cannot print through Citrix Policies except “Auto-create”.

Re: Printing issues – Citrix PPS 4.0

This is the first message I get when try printing using a regular TS connection:

Print error: An error occur during printing. (0x80070006)

I click OK and get another one:

A runtime error has occured. Do you wish to debug?
    Line: 27
    Error: the handle is invalid.

    Thank you,

Re: Printing issues – Citrix PPS 4.0

    Thank you for your input!

    For yuval14:
    -Yes, that is the application.
    -TS is not an option

    For Smart-X:
-Yes, I’m talking about ‘auto create’ printers
The policy is setup as follow:
    1. Auto create printers policy
    -Auto-Creation – “Auto-create all client printers”
-Native printer driver auto-install – “Do not automatically install driver”
-Universal driver – “Use universal driver only if requested driver is unavailable”
This one works with no problems.

    2. Other printer policies:
-Native printer driver auto-install – “Do not automatically install driver”
-Universal driver – “Use universal driver only if requested driver is unavailable”
-Session printers – Certain printers for certain policies and locations.
When using any of these ones it doesn’t print and user session hangs untill killed in Citrix.

All my printers are HP, all supported in Citrix, all drivers PCL5.
As I mention before, I did/do not have any other issues printing, except this application, recently installed.

Re: Restore individual mailboxes with Backup Exec v11d

I’ve solved this a while ago, forgot to post the steps that helped me.

    1) Make sure that under properties tab of the backup job – Microsoft Exchange – you have “Enable the restore of individual….” box checked.
    2) Make sure your backup account has full admin privileges on the mail server (mailbox store, public folder store) – Exchange Full Administrator.
If not, go to Exchange System Manager – right click on the organization – Delegate control – Go through the wizard and give your backup account exchange full admin privileges.
    3) Make sure your backup account has a mailbox.
    4) Make sure your BackUp Exec is up to date with all patches and SP’s.

    Cheers,

    Florin

Re: Unable to create new mailboxes on exchange 2003 server

    I’ve got it working….
As I said before I did a rebuild and update for RUS, checked the DC and under Active Directory Sites and Services, General, I chose my DC as preferred bridgehead server for SMTP and I rebooted my exchange server. Thank you Simon and Robby for your suggestions.

    Cheers

Re: Unable to create new mailboxes on exchange 2003 server

    Thank you guys,

My DC is a global catalog and I’ve tried rebuild and update for RUS with no success.
When rebuild and update I don’t get any error messages just a warning for rebuild.
I have not restart the server after rebuild I’ll do it tonight.
    And I’ll check my DC…
    I’ll keep you informed.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the replay.
I should have given more details about my problem…Actualy I cannot configure the outlook client because I get the an error saying that there is no mailbox created for the user. I was also waiting for more than 5 min, I created the account this morning…Could licensing be involved in that?
    Thank you.

    Thanks for the replay.

I followed the steps Microsoft suggested under KB 930879 and got the error. Also tried a few of the “fixes” from MS Exchange Team Blog with no luck…
    I’ll try it again tomorrow.

Re: interface resets and CRC errors

    Hi guys,

    Thank you for your answers.
Actualy the problem was on my ISP side. The LAN interface on their modem/router (Nortel SR 1004) was setup to half-duplex. Soon as they changed that to auto everything went back to normal, no more collisions or CRC’s and the speed got where it was suppose to be, 4.1-4.2 Mbps for upload and download.

Re: interface resets and CRC errors

    Thank you for the replay.
So…it doesn’t have anything to do with the interface being half-duplex?
On my side is set up to “duplex auto”. If I change it to duplex full interface goes down.

    Hi,

Thanx for the replay. No, I didn’t config the router through SDM. Yes, the problem was I couldn’t ping 208.165.199.93 (ISP router) so I couldn’t go out on the internet. I solved the problem though, this time through SDM :). Sorry but I cannot post the config.

    Hi,

I’ve done this in a lab (I’m a student) but we used Suse Linux. Fairly easy to use (very good GUI interface), free and it has a good documentation.
    Just a thought…

    Hi,

It’s just a hypothetical question. I’m a student and I’m trying a few things in a lab, so…it’s a testing environment. I was just asking for an opinion and guidelines/best practices.
    Thank you.

    Thanx Jeremy,

Like 30% of my users are on the LAN. But RDerby was right, I always can open an additional port if I need/have to. I’ll keep everything to the minimum.

    Hi Yuval,

I don’t see the logic either. But “somebody” wants me to get that working.
Autodesk doesn’t support their products running on TS/Citrix and, anyway, it’s just for minimal/rarely use(just in case some of my field engineers needs it bad).
    We’ll see…
