This article refers to ISA 2000. And as I wrote, I went through all possible guides.

Re: New mailbox creation in AD doesn’t appear in Exchange

    Hi Daniel,

“does not appear” means In the mailbox list under the store.
Already checked the DC’s and the RUS. All is good.
I can’t send a mail to the user as the mail address is not recognizable. Even in Exchange properties, in AD users and comps the user doesn’t have a SMTP address, although he has a mailbox.

Thanks for the reply, but your solution is not very clear. I’m looking for a slightly more detailed and explained solution.

    Thanks.

Re: Database Growth After Move Mailbox

Now you managed to confuse me! Wullieb1 said that online defrage creates white space while Guy says that it doesn’t!!! Does anyone has an official link to a microsoft document on the issue?

Re: Database Growth After Move Mailbox

Yes, I do realise, however I need to shrink the size of the database because the target server is hosting the database on an iSCSI LUN which cannot accomodate a space of 300GB because of disk shortage.
Is offline defrag will actually shrink the database file or will it create a white space in the database and leave the database file with the same size?

Re: Database Growth After Move Mailbox

    Thanks for the reply.
The cause of the growth is well understood. The question is will the defragmentation of the database will help, shrink and re-establish these broken links which were duplicated. What I mean is: If I had an attachment which I sent to 10 receipients and it was saved once with pointers to it and I moved these 10 mailboxes to other server, the pointers broke and the attachment replicated itself by 9. Will these 9 attachments will be deleted and pointers will be re-established on the new server after offline defrag and eventually the database will go down in size?

why do you want to create a user with a simple password?

I did a few restarts and it did not help! Why? cause in this situation I don’t need complex passwords.

The ADPRER /forestprep expands the Schema of the Forest. The operation is done on the DC that holds the schema or in other words the schema master. Therefore, if the DC with the schema master role is offline the schema can’t be expanded.

Regarding the first one: I do not quite understand what are you trying to restrict ? Maybe an example ?

Why just not change the permissions on the %USERPROFILE%Desktop folder ?

you can grab xcacls from http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/existing/xcacls-o.asp, place it in the NETLOGON share on the DC and then add something like this to the user logon script:

    Code:
    %LOGONSERVER%Netlogonxcacls “%USERPROFILE%Desktop” /P “%USERDOMAIN%%USERNAME%”:RX Administrators:F System:F /Y

In group policy there is a section called SOFTWARE RESTRICTION which lets you restrict a defined software from running.
I’ve already found the answer in http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/rstrplcy.asp

Still looking for an answer for the first question.
    Thanks
Tell me if it works for you. You have just gave me a nusty idea how to punish users that do not behave

Use Partition Magic. It has the option to rebuild all of the old links to the new drive letter.

Create a GPO, link it to the appropriate OU. Open Software Installation under the computer configuration and create a new deployment using the assign option (use update.msi). Restart the servers and as they start up the SP will be installed.

Did you check the SRV records in DNS?
