not as a vm but we wish to add the remote fx role which requires hyper-v to be enabled at bios level.

    Re: weird networking issue…

    i cannot ping the router..

    request timed out.

my brother can connect to it fine, i swapped router ports with my one and i still cannot ping the router.

the old one is lynksys the new one is billion wireless n

i restarted the power many times.

i allowed my mac address on the router which has built in firewall mac filter and now it comes back with

reply from my computer ip destination host unreachable

i put in a different NIC and it still doesnt work.

wireless is not an issue, my iphone connects fine to it. 2 other pc’s connecting via ethernet are fine except my pc so you would think the problem lies with my pc but i can connect with the old router so its not the cable and it doesnt like my pc in that instance.

i tried the loopback address 127.0.0.1 and i received a reply also when i ping my own ip it is fine so the NIC seems to be ok.

    Re: deleting public folders

its not a public folder, it is a user created to share the mailbox between a department. its an additional mailbox.

i am trying to delete a folder with subfolders from an additional mailbox. yes i have already given full mailbox rights and owner permissions on the parent folders. its like it doesnt propagate upwards if you know what i mean.

    Hi ,

    Check this post
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles/PFDavAdmin-tool-Part1.html

This will help you. You need to have specific permission to run this tool also Try to run it using you exchange administrator account.

the article is only refers to public mailboxes. That problem was resolved but i am experiencing the same issue with shared mailboxes.

I changed the title to avoid confusion.

    Hi,

Seems like you permission to pf are messed up. Use this tool PFDevAdmin
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=635BE792-D8AD-49E3-ADA4-E2422C0AB424&displaylang=en

first fix the permission on parent folder and give correct permission and then delete it.

thanks for the tip, i connected to all mailboxes, when i expand a mailbox account i get ‘coudnt expand (mailbox) and connect to underlying object unexpeced error occurred during send’ something along those lines.

    Re: deleting public folders

you would like to think so. i have given full access in AD for mailbox rights and i have made them owner on the highest parent folder in outlook. still same problem, they cannot delete folders with subfollders.

    Deleting Public Folders

thanks for that worked like a charm..

now i am trying to delete parent folders from a users shared mailbox and getting the same message. Its not public so I cant do it through ESM but the mailbox rights have been granted to full access.

    Re: OWA keeps dropping out

probably is.. when i resart it IIS it works but drops out after a few days. i have recreated all the folders in IIS.

The log path points to the file “exyymmddhh.log” which does not seem to be in the folder.

Re: OWA unable to connect to //servername/exchange

    thanks for the tips guys…

i got it working now after enabling rpc over http and setting it to backend.

the only issue remains is i have to put in the public IP address rather than the domain name. i think i have to take this up with our domain host.

Re: OWA unable to connect to //servername/exchange

yes i included the http. i have not set up ssl so i didnt bother putting the s in.

i am trying to browse locally first before i attempt remotely..

i stumbled upon an article stating that i must set the exchange server to backend and enable rpc over http. will attempt it and let you know although i must reboot and wait after hours to do it :-|
