Ok. Fixed. It was the permission on Exchweb folder. I added authenticated users permission as read and exceute. IIreset. Worked like a charm.

    Re: Exchange 2010 weird behavior

Ok i understand and got to apologize for wasting your time. I got a little confuse when i gave this command before New-RoutingGroupConnector -Name “domainrouting” -SourceTransportServers “server1.domain.com” -TargetTransportServers “Server2.domain.com” -Cost 10 -Bidirectional $true -PublicFolderReferralsEnabled $true. I did this and was certain to have a routing group as it should be.
For some reason it didnt happen. Then i read somewhere that some problem can appear with the Exchange Shell command. All i got to do is to delete c:usersuserappdatamicrosoftexchangepowershell folder, than run the again the shell and it will fix it. Then i ran again the adding routing command. Did the Get-RoutingGroupConnector again, and now all is fine.
I really appriciate the time and the effort of you both Sembee and Ossian.

    Again, Thank you

    Re: Exchange 2010 weird behavior

Yes indeed. Thats what make this even more weird. Get-help for instance or Get-Command works. I Wanted to create a new routingGroup Bcoz of flowing mail problems between both servers. The command Get-RoutingGroupConnector
Doesn’t respond. No error nthing. Just jump back to the command prompt

Ossian Thank you!!! you just put your finger on it :-o

I realized that there was a wrong configuration on the NIC. The virtual machine queues was enabled. I had weird and relatively long ping inside my LAN. I changed the configuration to disable ans VOILA!!!!!!!! :-P

Thank you very much 4 your respond. I appreciate your effort for helping.

Re: Local moving request 1 mailbox painfully slow

Hi Ossian and thank you for your fast reply.

I am moving from an sbs 2003 server in the same domain across the network. The sbs is a physical server. The Hyper-V is local. The problem is that i can only move mailbox when they not working. its only 1 day per week. it took me 22 hours to move only 72% of 12 gigabyte mailbox. how can i see if the I/O is the bottleneck?

I got 2 more mailboxes to move. 1 of them is a 18 giga.

    Thx again for you reply

    Re: Event ID 8197

I read this article and checked everything they suggest. The only thing that differs from my DC is the method 3 solution about the free/busy polling. It seems that the data value dca740c8c042101ab4b908002b2fe182 thats is under the subkey ExchangeAdmin, doesn’t exist.
They do not mention that if the subkey doesn’t exist, i’ll have to add it manually.

Do you have any idea about it. cause all the other suggestion by the article has been checked and did not fix my problem.

    thx

    Re: Event ID 8197

Beside the 8197 event that pop every 25 minutes, nothing show a regular pattern in the timeline. The information store dismount at different times.
I read somewhere the it might be linked to something with the sql instance, so i disbled the sql and i will follow up with the results.

Thank you for your help until now. Appreciate

    Re: Event ID 8197

First of all thank you for your response.

I’m not sure it correlate with the backup. It was just a Presumption but its not base on facts.

I know that it has something to do with the 8197 event that is logged every 25 mn.

In the microsoft solution the advice, among few, is to change the reg key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa and change the

LMCompatibilityLevel from 2 to 1. but after restart i can see that this key become 2 again.

I don’t understand what it does. it just something i found. beside that i did everything, nothing helped.

    Best practice analyzer is fine.

    I’m totally helpless. so weird

    thx

    Re: Event ID 8197

    Ok! thank you.

    So there it is

    first i have this:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: MSExchangeSA
    Event Category: MAPI Session
    Event ID: 9175
    Date: 18/05/2011
    Time: 06:04:00
    User: N/A
    Computer: DOMAIN-DC
    Description:
The MAPI call ‘OpenMsgStore’ failed with the following error:
The information store could not be opened.
The logon to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer failed.
    MAPI 1.0
    ID no: 80040111-0286-00000000

    And this

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: MSExchangeFBPublish
    Event Category: General
    Event ID: 8197
    Date: 18/05/2011
    Time: 06:09:00
    User: N/A
    Computer: DOMAIN-DC
    Description:
Error initializing session for virtual machine DOMAIN-DC. The error number is 0x80040111. Make sure Microsoft Exchange Store is running.

The second message appear every 25 minutes
Although the store is up most of the time, it might go down suddenly in the middle of the night. Maybe caused by the backupExec.

    Thanks Again

Re: Can’t receive external emails!!! please emergency!!!!

Thank you for your fast answer.

Oddly, mail sarted to arrive without any intervention of myself.

Because mail that arrive to my domain are relayed from my isp (for secure reason), i suppose that the problem was from the relaying, i’m not sure.

Anyway, it works again so again’ thank you very much

Re: Signatures disappearing in Outlook 2003

    1. Do you use Word as the mail editor
    2. is their any anti virus that add a signture like “this message has been scan by xxx antivirus” I know that avg create this problem.
    3. Is the e-mail created as html format for ex. and not as plain text
    4. what version of outlook are you using

    Thank you for your reply.

But still i get thi error in the event viewer “
This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #266. The client at “194.90.187.5” sent a “xexch50” command, and the SMTP server responded with “504 Need to authenticate first “. The full command sent was “xexch50 2552 3”. This will probably cause the connection to fail.

    event id 7010

i quite understand what is the solution to this.

Thank Stonelaughter for your fast reply… appreciate.

My MX record (and not my A records, as i wrongly mentionned before) has been redirect to my exchange server, that’s a fact. when i ping mail.mydomain.com
    i received my ip replying.

It may be a wrong dns configuration but i don’t really know what should i do?
