No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept. :(

    please do the needful…………..

    Use a proper server OS.

2000/XP will only accept a maximum of 10 concurrent connections.

    Re: Workgroup computer access problem

    Disconnect another user first.

As said, a desktop OS will (by design) support only 10 concurrent connections (to shares or printers)

The 11th user will not get on until an earlier one disconnects

Only way of resolving the problem on the current computer is to upgrade the OS to an appropriate server one… or buy a server.

the issue you are describing is not a “problem” – it is a design.
Windows XP, windows 7, windows Vista, are all configured to only allow a maximum of 10 clients connecting to shared resources. As has ably been pointed out by my peers in this thread.

Therefore, there is no way to “resolve” this “problem.”
what you can do is work around it, by using less computers.

The only way to “resolve” it fully is, as has been pointed out twice already, purchase and install a server operating system, which is actually designed to provide services like these (thus the name server)
