    Hi,

    I’d like to have a popup message sent to the user when a quota is met. I tried with a VBS file and it does’nt work.

    in the command tab, I put
    Execute c:windowssystem32cscript.exe

    and

    //nologo c:scriptsquota250.vbs
    as command argument.

    The working folder is C:Scripts

    I tried all possible combinaison of commands, only the script in command, etc, nothing do.

    Does anyone have a tip for me?

    Thanks!

    Rene

    You dont share enough information. But I’ll guess anyway.
    Likely the user doesnt have rights to either the script location or cscript.exe. Perhaps check eventviewer ?

    I wonder if the script is running on the server, not the client?

    How about emailed alerts — far simpler!

    On Windows Server 2008 you can get notified when these events occur. you need to use event triggers to send an email to your inbox or run a specific program.

    @ Toona, Do you know of a way to pass the Username though to the “To” line of a email? As that would be the best solution.

    A quick and dirty solution you coudl try would be to create a txt File with a message in it (“Your Quota has been Reached, Please call IT”) in it, and then sent a event task to kick of a script to open the TXT document on the computer in question.

    Other then that, I know there is a way to pass infomation from the event into a script, but last time I attempted this I gave up, so I will be no help with that.
