I’m about to move the DB to a new server. Which OS version will be the best to fit the good old 2008 R2 SQL version? Is it Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 2012, Windows 2016 or Windows 2019? Thanks! OssianModerator Nov 21, 2019 at 6:55 am #624938 According to this source (https://www.sqlskills.com/blogs/glenn/operating-system-support-for-sql-server-versions/) you are good up to 2012R2, but it is not a supported combination on Server 2016. I would not use 2008R2 as the OS because of the lack of support lifetime Author Posts Viewing 2 posts - 1 through 2 (of 2 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
