    Hi Everyone,

When I tried to delete the old VM which is not even registered in the datastore, I come with this error:

    Delete file VMFS_03_LUN
    Cannot delete file [VMFS_03_LUN] WebTest04-VM/WebTest04-VM-flat.vmdk

it applies to all VMDK, directory, log and the .vswp file ?
I was able to rename the directory which prove that the VM is no longer in use but then I still cannot MOVE it out to the other datastore or delete the content of the directory.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I’m wondering if the file is locked

Yeah, sounds like a lock. There’s a way you can use the command line to determine which ESX host is locking the file (although not sure how that works if the VM isn’t registered), or you could just systematically reboot your hosts. Sounds like a good time for a patch update!
