    Hi there,

My DC is running SBS2000. Just wondering how can i synchronize the time in this DC to US Navy time?

I followed this guide http://support.microsoft.com/kb/216734 from Microsoft, but it didn’t mention on how to synchronize the time to the time i wanted.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys soon.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Time Synchronization

Try this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816042 and scroll down to:
Configuring the Windows Time service to use an external time source
The article says it is for Server 2003 and up but it may also work for Server 2000.

The article you used was to make YOUR server an Authoritative Time Server. That is one that others point to for time syncronisation.

Follow the steps in the section Configuring Windows Time service to use an external time source in the link. Esp step 5.
Then configure with the info from: http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/ntp.html

    Re: Time Synchronization

Thank y’all for the help. All the PCs use same time now.

Just wondering, is it appropriate to add the following line along with the login script (network drive mapping script):

    net time /domain:bx.local

Reasoning is to make sure the client PC sync to DC’s clock everytime the user restart or log off. Or, is there any other better way in GP to force client PC to sync with my SBS 2000 DC in certain interval of time?

    Re: Time Synchronization

IIRC any desktop that is XP or beyond, automatically synchs after authentication.
BTW have you considered the pool ntp
set of time synch servers instaed of the navy – there are a number of advantages to them.
