    Hi,

Just installing a SBS2011 server. It won’t access the internet so I can’t activate, get updates all all that good stuff.

The IP details are correct. I can ping the gateway. Can’t ping anything outside of the local network but I can ping other devices on the LAN.

This is a migration from SBS2003 to SBS2011. The source server can still access the internet.

    DNS is installed and working.

    Any ideas welcomed!!

Are you sure that your Default Gateway is set to the IP of your gateway? Without the gateway address, you would be able to ping hosts on the same segment including the gateway interface, but not on the remote side of the gateway.

Thanks for the hints. Yes it was all set correctly…

The issue was that the firewall is licenced by x outbound connections. They get cached in the table and a reboot clears the outbound connections table and now I’m able to access the internet! Yay!
