    Hi

Rather then edit the permissions on the ACL of the distribution group directly why not use message restrictions. Message restriction uses the following attributes
    dLMemSubmitPerms
    dLMemRejectPerms
This will give you control of who can and cannot send messages to distribution lists.

    Exchange 2003

    Exchange 2007/2010

    Hi,

Infact I don’t think it is possible to restict mailing to distribution groups using the acl of the distribution group in AD.

You cannot even edit directly the following attributes using adsi edit. So it has to be populated using the Exchange ADUC (2k3) or EMC/EMS (2K7 – 2K10)

    dLMemSubmitPerms
    dLMemRejectPerms
