Not sure if I’m explaining this right, but i would like to be able to show HIIPA officers that i monitor intrusion attacks.

A way that i can see when there was an attack.
    A Way to prevent it

    Or whatever you suggest.

I run vmware for servers, but i’m behind an ASA 5510, firewall. Not sure if the vmware was a need to know.

    Thanks

Not too sure about HIIPA requirements but surely it would be a simple case of checking the logs on your ASA device and determining if an intrusion was prevented?

Or maybe hire a security specialist who will be able to advise you for your specific business.

This might be the best place to start
