I am looking for a script or point me in the direction of a tool that i can have a script reboot my firewall weekly and send me a report of the reboot if it was successful or not.

Would you mind giving us a clue what firewall it is, as this might make a difference to the answers

You would need to use the SonicWALL CLI to achieve this.
Do you have SGMS installed at all? You could probably use that to schedule a reboot for you.
I have to ask though why the need to reboot your firewall on a schedule? I have multiple SonicWALL’s all over the globe that I manage and don’t reboot them unless I really need to.

Wullieb1, very sorry I never rechecked this post. I am seeing at least once a month a degradation in the VPN connections for my remote staff from their homes. They say its slow connecting to the VPN and trying to open shared drives. I have done this before where I had to reboot the firewall and then everything is back to normal. I have been doing this once a month since I put it in place. No I don’t run the GMS so I don’t have the CLI. I did email my Dell rep today for a quote. I was also going to do a goog search to see if thier is anything else i can try or build to have this auto reboot monthly.

You don’t need GMS to run the CLI.
Also if you enable SSH on the relevant NIC, i have mine on the internal connection, you can manage the SonicWALL via your favourite ssh client.
