I am using windows XP professinal, and Hebrew was defined as a second language.
Old files (that were created on a Win 98 machine) that have filenames in Hebrew, are currently displayed by Windows Explrorer as pure Gibberish.
I am able to rename them and then view the right names, but it’s an endless task.
    Any Ideas?

    Hagay,

I encountered it long time ago, but I can hardly remember how I solved it :) — Lets try this. Zip, or rar the files in Windows 98, and then use the same program to unzip/unrar in XP. Its might not work, but it’s better than nothing.

    Keep us updated.

    Hi.

    I have the same problem.

unfortunately I don’t have the 98 machine anymore since it has been reinstalled with XP.

Now i am stuck with a million gibberish files.

    Any ideas?

    M.
