    Hi

Im looking to use the fax services that come with SBS 2008 but how do i if it cant see the hardware modem if its in a Hyper V VM environment?

Is there any way around this problem? Though of USB modem but thats not supported either?

Or is it possible to get a fax number routed via internet to SBS fax services?

    Thank You

My experience with sharing a modem in a VPC VM is that you can do it but with issues. Once you attach to the com port that the physical hardware is on within the host OS you develop contention issues. Perhaps this has been resolved in Hyper V but I’m not sure.

To do it you must install a modem [standard 56K fax modem] and direct it to the com port that the physical hardware is using.
