Having an issue with Windows 7 machines connecting via RDP to Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 servers.

    Start, Run, mstsc /admin /v:servername
    Get prompted for creditials
Enter credentials and RDC window opens
Have to click on a username and enter credentials again.

No TS Broker or anything like that. These are standalone machines that for whatever reason want me to log on twice.

Already checked this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730945.aspx and everything is set correctly. I went so far as to put the computer in a different OU, use MSConfig to disable all non-Microsoft services and the issue persists.

Not really sure where else to look.

Do the servers which you are connecting to have their remote desktop system properties set to:

Allow connections from computers running any version or Remote Desktop.
    or
Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication?

If it’s set to Network Level Auth, I would try the “any version” setting and see if that makes a difference.

Set to any version. Been like that since day 1.

Nothing has changed apart from updates and I’m coming in well after the fact so I am not sure what updates have been applied.

Does this with published Citrix apps as well. Double login…..
