    hi there!

i have a user who gets a boatload of large attachments. she wants to be able to save some of these e-mails, but remove the attachments. i suggested she forward then to herself, but then she won’t know who they’re really from.

anyone got any ideas on this?

    wxp, outlook 2k7, all updates.

    thx!!

If she forwards the email to herself it’ll still show the old email to/from within it. I know in O2K3 I was able to highlight the attachment and simply hit delete on them. Email remains.

    Open the message
Select “Other Actions” then “Edit Message”
Right Click Attachment and select “Remove”
    Close message window using X
Select “Yes” at “message has changed, do you want to save” dialog

Tested with Outlook 2007 SP2 on XP SP3 with Exchange 2007

No prob — glad to help, and good fun to do a little research
(btw, I also googled and found more or less the answer in the Office 2003 web help, then a little tweaking)
