I’ve been setting up a new IIS 7.5 FTP server and trying to point a virtual directory to another server where the data resides. In Windows 2003 in IIS 6 I created the virtual directory, said the directory was located on another computer, entered the path, and that was it.

On my 2008 R2 server in IIS I can enter the same path to the remote server and verify that it connects ok, but it doesn’t see it when I sign on with FTP, it always defaults to the users default path I have set up at ‘ftproot/localuser/username’.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Many thanks.

I haven’t played with IIS 7 let alone IIS 7.5 but have a look through the following link and see if anything might pop out to help.

I agree, it didn’t work for me when I clicked it again. Now the blasted thing is. No idea what is going on here; try clicking on it again.

Any future problems with this link try this link and then search for iis7.5.

post back if you have any more problems.
