I have a GPO (Enterprise Mode for IE11) that uses pointing to xml file. So, in GPO settings I have to provide the path to XML.
it works fine with UNC path. The file placed on one of DCs

The question: can I replace server_name to %logonserver%?

You may be able to try that environment variable, but the better solution would be to use your domain name instead of the server name (\my_domainsysvol…). That way, whichever DC answers, assuming you have no faults with DC replication, the sysvol share will be the same.

Thanks for suggesting the right alternative… will try it Monday…
I think there should be an option “Mark as an answer” on the Petri Forums like MS.
May the owner has a reason why it is not here… But definitely I would like to mark right and good suggestions…

Let’s hope my ‘idea’ actually does the trick.
