So long story short we need to repair issues with FRS on certain (not all) domain controllers (only three are functioning completely fine). I’ve resolved the issues regarding to “why” it happened but I’m receiving journal wrapping errors.
So in this (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315457) article that I’m trying to follow it states that “If the FRS is in an error state on a single member, you can set Burflags to D2 only on that single member” but later on it states “Stop the FRS on all Domain Controllers in the domain”, it talks about a staggering approach, too.
Is it that I need to set D2 on ALL domain controllers or ALL domain controllers with issues? Obviously I need to set D4 on one authoritative source DC.
I used the Burflags D2 value along with “Replica Set Parent” in the “SYSVOL Seeding” (set to the FQDN of the PDC Emulator with correct SYSVOL folder). Then I restarted NTFRS, after about 15-20 minutes it finished processing.
