Can I have 2 different browsers for example Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox set as default browsers for different applications.
eg. When i click a link in say an outlook message that the link opens with firefox and for any other application opens IE

Not as far as i’m aware.

There can only be one browser that is the system default.

You could potentiall set the application to open the one that it wants but that would mean configuring the applicaiton.

ive tried through the file associations dialog as well with no luck. was hoping if i could set an internet shortcut to open with IE and set the URL: HTTP to open with mozilla but it failed and just opened the internet shortcut with mozilla

that looks like its the only way it can be done.

    Thanks wullieb1.

I did try that earlier but yes i was editing an old “internet shortcut”
creating a new shortcut and not an internet shortcut did do the trick

Keep in mind that a shortcut to IE or Firefox can take a URL as a parameter, if that’s of any use.

The link i’ve posted will allow him to start firefox with the page as the home page.
