    Greetings!

Just got a note from our provider that our Inet connection will be through PPPOE and so our public IPs will need to be configured on our router. How can we config our router to make our public IPs work.

    Here are the details

WAN – PPPOE (username and password) was given to us
    Frame IP – 1xx.xxx.xxx.x
    Our public Ips – 1xx.xxx.xxx.x – 1xx.xxx.xxx.x (5 public IPs)
    Gateway – 1xx.xxx.xxx.x

I think they configured their modem in bridge mode. Pls help. Thanks

Kumosta kinalas. I have removed the Public IPs that you posted so they cannot be harvested and possibly used for an attack against your site. If you feel that will not happen then please feel free to return the Public IPs to your post. Personally, I try to keep my Public IP as anonymous as I possibly can. I used to run an SBS Server in my SOHO and I had several ports open. In 3 months I logged over 1 Million penetration attempts on my Server. Do you log such attempts on your network?

The provider, said we should be buying a new router for the new setup. So we will manage it. What settings do i need on my router

It will depend on your router but as a base you’ll need your WAN IP, Internal IP and static routes (if there are any)
