But why are you creating a separate web-site with a host header? Use the main server site as http:///exchange and you will be automatically redirected to https:///exchange – OOB.

Dear Teiger, I realy do appreciate your help, don’t get me wrong, but please read what I typed.

I quote myself :
But, just in case somebody connects to http://webmail.mydomain.com, forgetting the s in https, I have an extra virtual directory in IIS with a host header record webmail.mydomain.com, which reconnects to https://webmail.mydomain.com/exchange.
The result is, i somebody visits http://webmail.mydomain.com, they are redirected to the proper https site.

That is why I created that website.

It is when you deviate from the standard you create problems. You also can’t have 2 SSL sites on the one IP address, even with host headers.

I don’t use 2 SSL sites, it can be done in IIS with a wild certificate though, but I am not trying that.
The second website is http over port 80, read my text again please.
