  • Export printers, drive maps etc. to new machine

    Hi All
We manually have to migrate users settings from their old machines to their new machines and this looks to me like a job for powershell.

I want to export all this data to a file share on a server then import it from there onto their new machine

    I need to:

Gather the installed programs and product keys on the system to a text file

Export the mapped drives to the unc path & import them from there

Export the pst files the user has tethered to their outlook

Export the printers in their print que and the drivers for the same & Import from destination

Is there anything else that would be useful? Anyone succeed with any of the above, got any pointers?

Im thinking of starting with printbrm.exe to export the printers

    Thanks for reading

I would start by looking at the User State Migration Tool from Microsoft. I do not recommend trying to script this process.
