  • Powershell mystery

After MS suggested I installed Powershell when their updates failed to install, I later decided to uninstall it, since I have no idea what it is supposed to do. I doubt many others find it of much use either.

However in removing it a number of silly warnings displayed claiming such as SP3 on this XP and other software I had installed after Powershell might not work. But I took a chance and uninstalled it.

No such problems have arisen and a check shows there are no Windows updates such as SP3 needing installing.

It's just a scripting language and command line shell.
If you don't use it you should be ok uninstalling it.
A lot of other people do find it very usefull though.

IIRC it is a standard warning when you uninstall ANY update that later updates may not work.

Gordon, as a software author, I would have thought you would have wanted to know and use PowerShell. A quick would have told you lots about it
