  • Adding Groups to local groups

Hello, I am trying to add a couple of groups to the local groups on a machine via the net local group command. I use the following :

net localgroup administrators "%UserDomain%\West Workstation Administrators" /add
net localgroup "power Users" "%Userdomain%\Domain Users" /add

The first command fails, saying the syntax is incorrect
    The second line works.
I have noticed that if I put any group name in the first line with 2 spaces it wont work, but if I put a group name in with only 1 space in the name it works.
Can anyone help me with this.

    Cheers

    Matt

Re: Adding Groups to local groups

I believe I read somewhere that there was a 20 character limitation for the group name.

for example I was trying to add a group called "systems administrators" to the local administrators groups but could not until I changed it to "systems admins"
