  • Logon Script maps temp drive to Netlogon

A few years ago I upgraded a site from WinXP and Win2003 Server to Win7 64bit and Windows 2008 R2 server.

We are currently revisiting the logon scripts.

Basically they work, but it looks like a temporary drive is created to Netlogon while the script runs the batch scripts. In the past (Win2003/XP) it would use the Z drive or the last available drive.

Now it appears that Win7 machines are using the I drive (mostly) for many but basically the first available drive.

Anyway the site uses an application to block executable files and scripts from running on all drives except for the OS and it leaves the Z Y & X drives open for installing and scripting as needed. The goal is to generally block usb drives from running stuff.

Anyway is there a way to declare the temporary drive Netlogon uses... like the last available drive or Z, as compared to the first available drive like e,f, etc

    Thanks for any insight.
