  • Change user AD properties based on search results

    Hi,

I am looking for a VB Script which will allow me to do the following:

I want to search AD to find all user's whose home folder contains a particular server name.

Then I want to change the the home folder and profile path to a new server name.

    Basically this:

Find all users who have a home folder beginning with \\oldserver.

Change profile path from \\oldserver\profiles$\%username% to \\newserver\profiles$\%username%

Change home folder path from \\oldserver\home$\%username% to \\newserver\home$\%username%.

Do this for all users found.

The only thing that really needs to be changed is the server name. If i can insert just the new server name that would be great!

    Thanks,

    John

    OK Then,

Are there any other sites I can post my questions on?

    Thanks,

    John

Probably best to keep posts to one forum rather than cross-posting.

I think the previous adfind should help to get the info and you can pipe this to ADMod from the same site.

I'm 100% there is a way to do this in powershell but I'm not good enough in that yet!
      cheers
