    Good AFternoon,

    I have a strange issue with my login scripts. I have them set to map 3 network shares. They map the drives fine but when i open one of the mapped drives and try to create a new folder or do anything it gives me an access denied error. Now if i browse to the shared drive either through VNC path or network places i am able to copy create etc.. with no issues.

    Thanks For any help
    Ben

    Perhaps the contents of the script you are using would be helpful....

      sorry..

      Option Explicit
      Dim objNetwork, strRemotePath1, strRemotePath2, strRemotePath3
      Dim strDriveLetter1, strDriveLetter2, strDriveLetter3
      strDriveLetter1 = "V:"
      strDriveLetter2 = "P:"
      strDriveLetter3 = "N:"
      strRemotePath1 = "\\server\Technicians$"
      strRemotePath2 = "\\server\Engineering$"
      strRemotePath3 = "\\server\Backups$"
      Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
      ' Section which removes strDriveLetter
      On Error Resume Next
      objNetwork.RemoveNetworkDrive strDriveLetter1
      objNetwork.RemoveNetworkDrive strDriveLetter2
      objNetwork.RemoveNetworkDrive strDriveLetter3

      ' Section which maps three drives, V: , P: , and N:
      objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive strDriveLetter1, strRemotePath1
      objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive strDriveLetter2, strRemotePath2
      objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive strDriveLetter3, strRemotePath3
      ' Extra code just to add a message box
      WScript.Echo "Good Day Mapping drives " & strDriveLetter1 & " & " & strDriveLetter2 & " & " & strDriveLetter3
      Wscript.Quit

        Could be UAC related. Are these users local admins on their machine? What OS is on the clients and the file server?

          In windows 7 I had this same issue with a 03 domain controller. I turned of UAC completely and added domain users to the PowerUsers group on the local machine. I also added that specific user group/account to the security permissions on shared folder and gave them modify permissions and change permissions on the share its self.
