  • RPC Unavailable

    HI

I'm looking to remotely start and stop the RPC service on client machines

Many of them have the RPC Unavailable or similar errors

I have tried sc.exe, psexec and powershell start-service, wmic

All commands fail on affected machines but work as expected on the rest

When I try to access the services.msc > other computer I also get the RPC error, same with compmgmt.msc

Not being able to start the service is causing disrupting much of our automation.

Windows firewall is not enable on the client machines

all research so far on the net have not yielded any success

How does once force this RPC service to run remotely from a command line or what is it I am missing ?

    Thanks

    Confuseis

    Hey,

do you mean RPCSS ? Most everything depends on RPC, so if remote is your only option, I'm not sure if you can do much about it... I've even had problems with taskkill /s \\bla /f /pid 4 to kill SYSTEM process and force shutdowns
