  • SNMP community strings anyone ?

I am looking for a way to programatically set SNMP community string on W2K and XP workstations.

Have been digging the net for that for quite a while and only found scripts using WMI on XP. The problem is that W2K's WMI provider does not give this functionality.

I know that I can achive the same result by directly writing appropriate registry values, but I would rather do that using some kind of API.

    Any pointers, folks ?

    TIA

We've set them here using Group Policies, not sure what your setup is but that worked for me.

    Cheers

i've never done it through scripting but maybe can this help you out:

Trough GPO is also possible, but at least on Windows XP.
