  • VBS: Accessing open / save dialogs in Windows Vista & 7

    I'm working on some old XP scripts which, among other things, show open and save dialogs via commands similar to:
    Code:
    Set ObjFSO = CreateObject("wscript.CommonDialog")
    ObjFSO.Filter = "VHD Files|*.vhd|All Files|*.*"
    InitFSO = ObjFSO.ShowOpen
    Unfortunately this is not supported in Vista and above (produces an "ActiveX component can't create object" error for the first line) and searching for the equivalent reveals nothing helpful (need licensed dlls or office installed, for example)

    Can any of the gurus (Rems? ) help me out with a way of doing this in Vista that does not require particular add-ons?
