  • Script needed tp path USB

    In the past , I used this script to "auto assign" the CD rom path (it allowed a user to update .pcf from an auto run CD)

    @start index.html

    CALL WAIT 4

    set CDROM=NONE
    If exist d:\CD.ID set CDROM=D:
    If exist e:\CD.ID Set CDROM=E:
    If exist f:\CD.ID set CDROM=F:
    Path=CDROM

    @ECHO OFF
    Del "C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Vpn Client\Profiles\*.pcf"
    COPY %CDROM%\VPN\*.pcf "C:\program files\cisco systems\vpn client\profiles"

    I have a new need.. when insert a USB drive (in to 45 different pc's) each pc should automatically assign drive letter x:\ to the usb... so that I may automate a file copy (the pc's are not networked)

    Is there a way to force the PC to see the usb as drive X: (from the usb)

    Figured it out--
    I'll share if anyone is interested

    Mkdir "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\DIR"
    c:
    echo file>USB.id
    set usb=none
    if exist d:\usb.id set usb=d:
    if exist E:\usb.id set usb=E:
    if exist F:\usb.id set usb=F:
    if exist G:\usb.id set usb=G:
    if exist H:\usb.id set usb=H:
    if exist X:\usb.id set usb=X:

    path=USB
    c:\windows\system32\xcopy /s %USB%\Dir "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Dir"
