  • help with xcopy

I have a simple script which copies the contents of one folder on a server to another folder on a different server.

    XCOPY"\\sh-dmc1\d$\BACKUP\SH-EXC1\TEST" "D:\BACKUP" /v /h /y

when ever I try to run this in dos it just loops and it doest execute correctly.

Do I need any special software to run xcopy? Im running server 2003

If I run the same script on me XP based PC its works fine??

What do you mean it loops?

    Try it like this:

    XCOPY \\sh-dmc1\d$\BACKUP\SH-EXC1\TEST D:\BACKUP /v /h /y

If it runs fine from your XP machine (There also seem to be an invalid character in there _ maybe a typo! ), then see if you can access the UNC path (\\sh-dmc1\d$\BACKUP\SH-EXC1\TEST) from the 2003 machine.
