Whats the best way of putting this batch file on user machines, All machines in a group have their own mapped drives on X drive.

My question is whats best way to run this batch file? and if I need any modifacations to this code? I would like to perform this script once a week or may be twice?

    Code:
    @echo off
    set drive=X:\
    set backupcmd=xcopy /s /c /d /e /h /i /r /y
    echo ### Clearing previous backup...
    del /s /q %drive%
    echo Previous backup now removed

    cls
echo ### Backing up My Documents...
    %backupcmd% "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents" "%drive%\My Documents"
    echo ### Backing up Favorites...
    %backupcmd% "%USERPROFILE%\Favorites" "%drive%\Favorites"
echo ### Backing up email and contacts (MS Outlook)...
    %backupcmd% "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook" "%drive%\Outlook"
    echo ### Backing up Desktop...
    %backupcmd% "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop" "%drive%\Desktop"
echo ### Backing up the Registry...
if not exist "%drive%\Registry" mkdir "%drive%\Registry"
    if exist "%drive%\Registry\regbackup.reg" del "%drive%\Registry\regbackup.reg"
    regedit /e "%drive%\Registry\regbackup.reg"
    echo Backup Complete!

    Re: Backup

Dont know if possible, you can use schedule task in windows xp, never tryed that throw gpo in windows server for client computers. Anyway you can always use a secondary free program.

Edit: I know it off topic but you can tame somore ideas in this page for adding stuff to the script.

        go to : http://free-backup.info/back2zip.html

I use it and very light and has all that you need..freeware. Can select to backup to ZIP or else straight copy, incremental , etc etc, take a look.

Flux, please remember to choose meaningful thread titles - "Backup" isn't particularly descriptive of what you're trying to achieve.
