  • How do I get editor to syntax?

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to these forums and dont know if this is the one to ask my question - if it isnt, perhaps someone will direct me to the right one - thanks

I want to learn how to have syntax color in my html codes - todate I've looked at a few text editors which say they do this. But no way can I see how its done.

    Example -

Have got HTML NOTEPAD downloaded BUT I CANT GET THE HANG OF APPLYING/WRITING CODE WITH COLORS -

Can someone post instruction or point to such a page of what has to be done to do this?

I'm a real dumbo here - cant work out what action is needed by me to get color in HTML Notepad

I've used text editors for some years but I've never used an editor with syntax color - but would like to - please help anyone.

    Thanks anyone in advance

I've used Primalscript for a long time. It might be worth to look at it.
I don't use it anymore because I switches to security

HTML Notepad looks cool, especially as a freebie

I found the syntax colouring appeared after I saved the file with an HTM extension -- before that, nothing

Re: How do I get editor to syntax?

        Hello,

Many thanks for interest and comment - I only got it to work 'sort of', after I made it my source viewer - nothing before that.

        BUT
        1. - I see only two colors - red and blue - are there more - how do I get to see them?

        2. - I cant see how I can change the default text font and its characteristics.

Any chance you can find a mo and nosey out the answers to this - otherwise I'd agree with you about HTML pad being great.

Or is there another Pad which is easier on the beginner to use?

        Thanks in anticipation

I personally like SitePad Pro by Modelworks http://www.modelworks.com/

It used to be paid for but it seems they now distribute it as freeware.
