  • Autoit and vmware converter

    Hi,
I am trying to automate vmware convertion in windows.Am using autoit v3.
Was able to simulate almost all actions but am stuck in this page (see attachment vm_auto1.jpg probably because the grid where the machine drive information is displayed is an array. The tool also comes with a utility to capture the control ID. But as soon as i try to capture this controls id (upon bringing the tool over a control, it displays the control information), this screen vm_auto1.jpg collapses.
The objective is to simulate user selecting the drive space (vm_auto2.jpg and vm_auto3.jpg).
both vmware and autoit are free tools. Suggestions are absolutely welcome.
    thanks

    Are you an Enterprise customer?

If so, there appears to be a command line interface for the p2vtool:

      Hi Rick,
I have already created a vm using vmware converter. As the next step want to use autoit or any other tool to simulate user action in the wizard and automate this process.

Understood. Was just suggesting that a command line interface in p2vtools would make automation an easy undertaking -- if p2vtools is available to you and it can function in place of the converter.
        Cheers,

        Rick
