  • Example code for one way chat app?

    Hi all

Not really a scripting question but a VB .net question. Does anyone know of any example code that will teach me how to write an app similar to a chat program but only one way? Like how NET SEND works but not using the messenger service.

I need to write an app that can broadcast a message when say the fire alarm goes off - for deaf users or people using headphones who don't hear the alarm.

    Thanks in advance

Isn't it better to use those red signal lights instead?
If the program crashes or failed you're problably in deep shit or at least you feel you'reself in deep shit...

Isn't it better to let the experts (eg firefighters) do their job?

I remember having a look at something like this a couple of years back and it needs a client on the other machine to receive the packets.

This isn't intended as a replacement for a fire alarm or firefighters. The red lights are no good unless placed in the eye line of a deaf person or someone looking at a computer screen with headphones on (with music too loud I guess!).

It is trying to add an extra layer of alarm. if it crashes, then it crashes. Lets hope it never has to be used in a real situation.
