  • Computer inventory script..

    Hi,

I need a script that i can run from my domain controller which will audit all pcs on the network and give me a list of their components.........I've tried other scripts but for some reason it wouldn't work......

    any ideas?

the one i tried was this: hxxp://www.scriptinganswers.com/vault/Computer%20Management/computer_inventory.vbs.zip

the error in eventviewer was :
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: DCOM
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 10009
    Date: 12/04/2007
    Time: 3:45:32 PM
    User: BENQ\
    Computer: BENQ
    Description:
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer OFFICE08 using any of the configured protocols.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The script you mensioned works fine.

Is the error only with computer "OFFICE08"? Then scan that computer for virussus or other unwanted communications (with printers, or other resources). Or check for nic/switch/cabling problems.
