  • Script to Print to Multiple Trays

    Hi,

I would like to have a script that will cause any job sent to a specific printer (or more preferrably, from a specific computer to a specific printer) to automatically print 2 copies, one from tray 1 and another from tray 2. Tray 1 would have white paper and tray 2 would have yellow paper. White gets filed, yellow goes with the shipment.

Any ideas welcomed as I have not found anything and seemed to have baffled a lot of people with this request.

I have a Ricoh Aficio multifunction unit and I cannot do it with any of their software.

I am hoping there is a way to do it using VBScript or Perl as those are the languages that I am familiar with (and I use familiar relatively loosely). I am in a Windows SBS 2003 environment with a single server running all services.

    Thank you very much.

This is normally done as a macro in Word or other application. How would the script be launched?

Yeah, I have no idea how it would be invoked... my user will be printing PDFs Is there a way to do a macro from there?

      THanks for your input.
