  • I would like a way to manage VMware Workstation

A lot of our sales people are now using VMware Workstation for sales presentation demos and so forth. As they know next to nothing about PC Virtualization, I would love to find a way to manage their application settings so for Workstation such the Updates and Workspace preferences so that don't have to call me about them. Does VMware make templates for Group Policy in order to make GPOs for it or do I need to create a script of some kind. Would love any input on the matter. Have a good one.

AFAIK VMware does not provide any GPO's for VMware Workstation.
Although I haven't tested it you might look into http://www.policypak.com/products/ma...policypak.html

But is VMware Player not a better option for them? Just wondering

Why are they using worksation if they know nothing about PC Virtualization?

I'm with Marcel in that VMware Player would be a much easier option for you.

VMware Performance Monitoring Tool is the best way to manage VMware Workstation.I am using MindArray IPM's VMware monitoring tools for managing my VMware workstation. It helps to monitor performance issues of Vmware workstation in single click and manage multiple components of your VMware workstation. It also provides 30 days free trail.
