  • Virtual ISCSI SAN Disk for VMware workstation

    Hi,

I'm a bit rusted using VMware but I am familiarized with the product. In fact, I am actually using (for testing purposed) a Windows 2008R2 Cluster that runs a SQL 2012 failover instance on it.

My question is about the required virtual SAN for the Cluster setup. I am currently running freeNAS and while I was able to configure, it is using some space on my SSD USB drive and would like to eliminate.

I've heard that VMware provides free appliances and wonder if I can download a SAN disk that I can use for my setup. Something that I can just add as a disk on each node and maybe reconfigure my whole setup?

    Any link is highly appreciated...

    Thanks in advance,

PS: I am using VMware workstation 9.0

Guess you meant the VMware VSA... However this is for vSphere and not for workstation.

FreeNas, openfiler EMC Uber VSA (I believe) or NetApp simulator can do the job...
EMC Uber VSA can be found here: http://nickapedia.com/2010/09/12/ube...-v3-unisphere/

For NetApp you need a now account.
