  • vCenter question

I need info on how to move or migrate a (VM) vCenter server to a new ESX host. Decommishing a old server that has the (VM)vCenter server on there.

    Re: vCenter question

You can use VMware Convertor to convert the physical machine to a virtual machine.

You could use vMotion to migrate it if the host is virtual.

Please supply more info about your setup and we can help further.

I used vm converter (stand alone ver.) and it worked fine except the nic reset itself to dhcp then had to reconfig the nic back to the static ip. Thanks.

This is because it is a different NIC card that VMware installs.
