  • Vmware on External USB

    Hi,

    Vmware is install on Win 7 ,but due to limited space on laptop harddrive .

    I wants to install all guest Operating system on external usb.

    For lab testing i wana on one Domain one Additional Domain and one XP/win7

    but all wants on External USB is it possible.

    Please reply.

    So basically you want to set your VM's on a external USB drive?
    Well my first question, have you actually tried it?

      yes i wants,vmware workstation install on win7 and later wants every next

      installation on USB external. due to space limititions on laptop


      yes i don't try.but i run alredy prepared winxp.vmdk files that runs successfully on my

      laptop

      still required any question u are welcome.

        I have run VMs on an external USB hard disk drive before and didn't have any issues. The main bottleneck I have generally found is memory when using the VMware workstation.

        As mentioned, it is worth testing.
