  • no internet on dc(domain)

    Hello
    I have 2 server 2008 r2 virtual machine on vmware 2.1
on the first machine that is not part of domain I can open site as usual
on the second machine (pc2) that I created as dc and connected to domain there is no internet so I cant open site, but if i ping I get response from site
I tried to change the virtual network to bridge and nat and nothing helps
Before I made my machine domain the internet worked
So how I can connect my pc 2 to internet and open site

    Re: no internet on dc(domain)

your issue is probably related to DNS.
Its a DC, so ensure it points to itself first for DNS.
then configure the DNS Server with an appropriate forwarder.

Is the network profile for the DC referring to a domain network? You can view this via the Network and Sharing Center. Also, is there a cross to the left of Internet?

On the screen you posted, go into "Managed Network Connections". From there, right click the active network adapter and go to properties. Highlight TCP/IP v4 (or something similar) and click properties. That will be the IP configuration screen. The bottom of the screen will be the DNS settings. Ensure the primary DNS server is set to the IP address of the server (hint: It'll be on that screen also).

I suspect he means "I know DCPROMO makes a domain controller, without knowing any supporting details"

Yes I know how to make dc
I am trying to add another machine to the domain but I get error that my domain could not be contacted
I copied my dc ip to the machine preferred dns and still the problem persist
they are on the same network and same gateway
another thing i did is to disable the firewall for checking
I cant get ping from the dc no response
                      what do you think?

A bit too small to read -- can you copy the text and post that here?
