  • High Availability design across two separate physical location ?

    Hi All,

Can anyone suggest if using VMware (HA or FT) can be done over two different location (eg. DR and Production) and subnet ?

I am confused and would like to know if anyone can help me here.

    Thanks.

The term you need to google on is "stretched clusters". It is possible but all depends on bandwith between the two sites

And even more so the fact that you have storage replicated between the two sites as well.

No it cannot be on two different subnet so far.
HA and FT must be on L2 network. Thus over two site you would need a stretched L2 network.

Now don't forget about the storage that need also to be accessible by the two sites as it was local...

If it's about High Availability, you might also look into SRM.
