  • How to have vms connect to each other but not to physical host

I have Vmware Workstation 10 . Host physical machine win 7 64 bit. I say physical host because some things i read seemed to suggest one of the vms is a host on the virtual network

I have three vms and want the vms to be able to contact each other but not connect to the physical host. The vms do not need internet acess

What network adapter settings do I need ? Thanks

I would think it would be custom settings and a separate virtual network from the host:

Thanks. So i should have custom but not VMnet0, VMnet1 and VMnet8 ? Or is VMnet0 OK. It says VMnet1 is host and VMnet 8 is NAT

Do i just change to a custom or do i have to add an adapter?

Does host always mean the physical machine?. Thank for the reply

        Select your VM
        Right Click and select Settings
        Select your Network Card
        Click on LAN Segments
Create a segment, Click on Add, then name it something.

Make sure yiou then place the VM's you require into this LAN segment

Voila you now have a segmented network with no access to either the internet or your host, unless you enable Shared Folders.
